We had a very nice wedding shower thrown by the folks at Ashley’s work on Friday. They went all out with beautiful and thoughtful decorations, delicious homemade food and awesome gifts. My mom and Ashley’s mom were both able to attend, as well as Noah, the baby of two of Ashley’s coworkers. It was by far the finest of the few wedding showers that I have attended – a full rainbow even appeared while we were eating! Despite my severe appreciation, I was about one unicorn away from needing an emergency session of football, can beer and head butting to get my head right ;)
Saturday was filled with cooking, cleaning and studying while Ashley took the babies to Perryville to see her Aunt Michael’s new house. They got back around 8:00 that evening and we put the babies in bed for some grownup time! We stayed up really late watching Comedy Central and playing Speed, which I won 12 to 4. That’s the cool thing about my baby – even if I absolutely, positively crush her in a card game she’ll still chill with me all night. Love ya p!
Baby Story of the Day:
The little turkeys clogged the bathroom sink on Saturday. I was mopping the floors in the kitchen and dining room, so I had them locked in the back part of the apartment with a baby-gate. I heard an ominous combination of splishing, splashing and giggling coming from the bathroom and, upon further inspection, found them “cleaning” the bathroom door with toilet paper and water from the sink. They were having quite a fine time and the sink was completely full of standing water. Since I didn’t feel inclined to take a picture of the freshly cleaned door or the reservoir in the sink, I’ve included one of Meadow destroying my brother Michael ‘s face with a laser gun.

Song in my head: Lucky, by Britney Spears…ugh. I have no idea how this song got in my head; I just want it OUT! I seriously considered not sharing this one ;)

P's Birthday
Hey everyone! James' B-Day was last week and we celebrated it Thursday night as well as over the weekend.
Thursday night we had dinner at Sherrye's. It was delish! Then she watched the babies for us so that we could go to the Rev Room with some of our friends. We had a great time, but had to work the next morning.
Here are a few pics...

Katie, Me, Whitney, Jenny my BFF, Whitney's sis, Katie...

Josh, Me, James. Good Times!
Then this weekend we got to go to a Crawfish Boil with some new friends, Melanie and Seth. It was so much fun! Afterwards we went to Sticky Fingerz and watched a great band with Josh and Jason.
It was pretty much a great B-Day weekend!!

Hello everybody!
Baby Story of the Day:
I have a cute picture of the babies in our bed this morning, so this will be a great opportunity to share our daily wake-up routine. Every morning I wake the babies by bringing them from their bed to our bed, letting them lay under the covers with the light on for a while. I require a smooth wake-up process in the morning, so I try and make theirs as smooth as possible as well.
It’s funny how they both have such different transitions from asleep to awake. Sebastian wakes up quickly: in the amount of time that it takes me to move him to my bed he has usually requested his juice and race car 3 or 4 times. After downing a sippy cup, he’s wide awake and ready to start messing with his sister. Meadow on the other hand usually isn’t awake until I get her in my bed and start talking to her. Since I have the light on, she generally requires 5 – 10 minutes of full-body submersion under the covers to start interacting with the living world. A usual conversation in the morning is,
Me: “Alright Meadow, it’s time to start getting dressed.”
Squirming lump under the covers: “Five more minutes!”

CrossFit Ramblings of the Day:
I actually skipped the gym yesterday and went to Home Depot to get the materials needed to make gymnastics rings. They are used in CrossFit to do a variety of exercises, but they can be horribly expensive and you have to order them online. So last night I made some myself. Here’s the quick version of how: I filled the 2 ft sections of PVC with sand, capped the ends with duct tape and baked them for 9 minutes at 350°. Once they were cooked, they were soft enough to bend in a circle and place inside a pot to cool and harden. Then I strung 3/8” rope through the center to complete the circle and used lashing straps to hang them. It was surprisingly easy to do and pretty cheap at roughly $25.
Today's workout, Eva, was horrible. I was only able to finish 3 of 5 rounds in roughly 41 minutes. Check it out at the blog that my workout buddies keep. http://infidelcrossfit.blogspot.com/2009/02/set-aside-some-time.html
Political thought of the day:
I won't even touch on Obama’s speech becuase, to me, it didn't sound any different from what he's been saying for a while - the economy's bad but America can overcome, etc. But Governor Jindal actually impressed me last night, which made me start to ponder. It would be really interesting if he runs for president in 4 years like people are speculating. Imagine an election without a white person running. Imagine the political climate towards Democrats in Washington if this enormous Stimulus Package doesn’t work. Imagine the possible straining of relations with nuclear-armed Pakistan, or at least with individual Pakistani’s, if we had a conservative, Indian-American president. Well these are all just thoughts, but regardless, I was impressed with him last night. And I’m a pretty liberal person who Baracked the Vote by the way!

Wedding Stuff...
I feel like we have accomplished a good amount of things in the past couple of weeks!
I picked up my dress last Friday! It was perfect! My amazing alterations lady, Margaret, only had to take up a bit at the bottom. But, she is amazing and is very reasonable. Have you ever heard of a wedding dress being altered for $65?! I think not!
Sherrye (P's mom) and I finished putting together the invitations. This wasn't that simple of a task. There were cards and foam spacers and dots and Velcro all over the place. But, it's done!!! Go check your mailbox!!
I FINALLY finished registering everywhere. I tell ya, that is work! Unfortunately I only seem to have been able to do this late in the evenings and I must be honest, my feet comfort level in my dress shoes might have influenced my decisions a bit.
Tonight I am supposed to be getting all the data for my programs typed up, but I bathed my children, impulsively cut Seb's hair while sitting on the bathroom toilet and crawled in bed to blog a bit. It can wait until tomorrow!
So, I'm very excited!!! I'm getting my Bridal photos taken this weekend at Marlsgate!! This is where the wedding will be held.
I have my first hairdo practice session Saturday and hope hope hope my photographer will be free from his job at the paper to take pics afterwards. Otherwise we will wait until Sunday and my hair will look... oh gah! What is it going to look like??? Maybe something like this...
Valentine's Day...
We had a great Valentine's Day. Meadow and I spent some girl time together and got our nails did. Meadow thought she was the poop and decided to kick back and catch up on Brangelina.

James and Seb went to Paul Morell and got Seb fitted for his tux. Sebastian wasn't quite sure what was going on. But he had his car, Lightning McQueen, so all was well.

It looks like Lightning got measured a bit there, too... Hmmm he might be attending the wedding.
James and I put the kids to bed and cooked us a beautiful Salmon and potatoes dinner!

The birds and the bees from a two-year-old's perspective… An actual quote from my son.
About one week ago Sebastian stumbled upon something very cool... He caught me off guard and in a moment of poor judgement. He was very confused about what his newly discovered body part was. In an effort to make certain he didn't continue down his current line of thinking, I told him that that actually was not his 'bottom' but his balls. Lesson learned...
So Saturday, after James had taken a shower, Seb came busting into the bathroom having to tee tee on the potty. While stepping down off the step stool, Sebastian came to realize that only boys have balls, girls don't have balls.
Mommy: "That's right. Only boys have balls. Girls don't. So Sebastian, what do girls have???"
SEB: "Hmmmm." Very confidently, "A basktet."

I suppose it is quite obvious to a two-year-old... If boys have balls, girls obviously have a basket.
I did the best I can. This is definitely the PG version.

Hello all! This is my first post on the family blog and I’m quite excited. I think Ashley did a great job describing everything in her first post – most notably her questionable taste in suit sizes.
A brief history on me – I was born in Little Rock and graduated from Little Rock Central High in 1999. Over the next few years I took an enjoyable tour of some regional universities (LSU, U of A Fayetteville and UALR) until I finally graduated in 2005 with a Finance Degree. I’ve been working at a bank in Risk Management ever since and I’m currently re-enrolled in accounting classes in an effort to become a CPA.
In the future I hope to have different sections in each post. One section that I hope to always include is a notable baby story of the day. Also, since I go to the gym everyday at lunch, you may hear me blab about the day’s CrossFit experience in a workout section. And if you know me very well, you know that I have a chronic problem of tunes being stuck in my head. I use the word “tune” instead of “song” because cell phone ring tones and commercial jingles tend to play on repeat just as frequently as conventional songs. So if I’m singing along to something in my head while I’m writing the post, I’ll share what it is in a song-stuck-in-my-head section.
Baby Story of the Day:
Saturday morning I was awoken by Sebastian poking at me from the floor beside my bed. I got up, fixed him some juice, put on a movie for him and went back to bed hoping that I could snooze for however long Stuart Little runs. But his attention wasn’t held by the movie and, since Meadow had stayed at my mom’s house the night before and wasn’t there to play with him, he kept coming in the room to show us the cool stuff that he had found throughout the house. One cool thing he brought us was a toothbrush that he had LOADED up with toothpaste and, in the hopes of avoiding a toothpaste cleanup, we told him to go put the toothbrush in the bathroom sink. After disappearing into the bathroom for a few quiet minutes we started calling for him and telling him, “You’d better not still be playing with that toothbrush!” To which he would respond, “I not bwushing my teef!” After another minute or two and a few similar exchanges, he finally came back in the room with the smoking gun evidence all over his face. Ashley and I both had a great laugh and Ashley was able to get a picture.

What’s Stuck in my Head at the moment:
FreeCreditReport.com song. I told you it wasn’t always a song. Well, this one is kind of a song, but not the kind of song you hope to get caught singing in front of your coworkers in the break room while I was getting coffee this morning… :)
That's all for now!

Welcome to our family blog!!! I'll give you a quick rundown of how our family began. My name is Ashley Weier. I was born in Searcy, AR. Blah, blah, blah... I grew up. I met my fiance, James McBryde, while working at a bank here in Little Rock, AR. where we currently live. I worked in the Cash Management Dept. and he later joined me on the second floor in the Audit Dept.
What was my first impression of James? Hmmm, I'd have to say it was that his suits were a little too big. (He's going to get me back for that one! Just wait, you'll see.) But, it's true. James was a runner at that time and apparently was quickly losing some poundage. Regardless, he was a cutie and the funniest, most clever guy I had ever met. We became friends very quickly and found that our personalities not only worked great together, but we also brought the best out of each other. We decided we were two P's in a pod and actually started calling each other Big P and Little p. I know, love is cheesy. But, he's still my P and the babies call him P Daddy. We wouldn't have it any other way.
I at the time had two very small children, Meadow and Sebastian. You will find their beautiful mugs all over this blog. I am a proud momma!!!
Anyway, after quite some time, James and I thought we would make life interesting and about a year later started dating! James proposed to me at my most favorite spot in the world! We call it the River Cabin. It was on June 28th, 2008 the day after my birthday... Nice cover, James! Don't worry everyone, I have pics of that too! I was out on the dock and had cast my fishing line and let the river carry it down a long, long, long way. I couldn't catch anything dammit and I was bored! This allowed James ample amount of time to get down on one knee and wait for me to turn around. I think he sat there for quite a few minutes, actually! He looked a little woozy when I finally turned around. But, It couldn't have been a more perfect proposal!!
Well, here we are... less than two months from the wedding! The big day is April 4th and we're nearly ready! Meadow (now 5) and Seb (now 2) are going to be our beautiful flower girl and gorgeous ring bearer! Please note: If you attend the wedding there is a chance that Spider Man will actually be our ring bearer... or a monster. Seb is known to change characters quite unexpectedly!
I will try to catch you guys up on all the wedding goings on, as well as what our crazy babies are up to and anything else interesting in our lives. I really hope to keep this blog very current as life is so crazy right now and I really wish I had more time to share all our precious moments with all our loved ones... and the occasional follower.
Cheers to an exciting ride!!!
